Spiral Wave Nomads

Spiral Wave Nomads is a psych/experimental duo featuring guitarist Eric Hardiman from Albany, NY, and drummer Michael Kiefer from New Haven, CT. Both musicians have rich backgrounds in the New England underground scene, with Hardiman known for his work in bands like Burnt Hills and Rambutan, and Kiefer recognized from More Klementines and Myty Konkeror. The project blends psychedelia, free rock, jazz, and noise with improvisational flair, drawing on influences from ’60s psych guitar to modern experimental rhythms. Their self-titled debut came out in 2019, recorded remotely, but their second album, *First Encounters*, captures their first in-person playing, delivering intricate guitar lines and sophisticated, cymbal-rich drumming that evoke a spacious, kaleidoscopic sound landscape. Their music is often described as hypnotic, richly textured, and evocative of deep psych jams with intelligent interplay between the two members.
