Volodymyr Syvokhip

Volodymyr Syvokhip is a renowned Ukrainian conductor and musicologist, born on January 6, 1965, in Drohobych, Lviv region. He holds the position of artistic director and conductor of the Gloria Chamber Choir, a role he has held since 1999. Under his leadership, the choir has been instrumental in reviving Ukrainian religious music from the 17th and 18th centuries, which was largely suppressed during the Soviet era. The choir's repertoire also includes Western church music and lesser-known works by composers like Bach, Haydn, and Stravinsky.
