Scala & Kolacny Brothers is a Belgian women's choir conducted by Stijn Kolacny and arranged and accompanied by pianist Steven Kolacny, the founders and namesakes of the group. The choir, formed in 1996, is comprised of non-professional singers drawn from local schools and has since become known for its distinctive sound, which marries the innocent timbre of the young female vocalists with often unexpected and innovative arrangements of well-known rock, pop, and indie songs.
The group first attracted international attention in the early 2000s, gaining broader fame when their haunting cover of Radiohead's "Creep" was featured in the trailer for the film "The Social Network" in 2010. Since then, Scala & Kolacny Brothers have continued to expand their repertoire, blending classical and contemporary elements. They have consistently released music that challenges the boundaries between genres, as seen in their diverse singles ranging from haunting renditions of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game" to an atmospheric take on Bon Jovi's "You Give Love a Bad Name." With every release, Scala & Kolacny Brothers continue to cement their status as an innovative force in the music landscape, attracting a global audience captivated by their ethereal soundscapes and emotive performances.
