Sam Pilafian

Sam Pilafian is a trombonist, composer, and arranger who has been active in the music industry for over 40 years. He is best known for his work in jazz, but he has also performed and recorded in a variety of other genres, including classical, pop, and rock. Pilafian has released over 20 albums as a leader or co-leader, and he has also appeared as a sideman on numerous other recordings. He is a highly respected musician who is known for his technical virtuosity, his melodic sense, and his ability to swing.

Pilafian was born in New York City in 1949. He began playing the trombone at the age of 10, and he quickly developed a passion for jazz. He studied at the Berklee College of Music and the Manhattan School of Music, and he began his professional career in the early 1970s. Pilafian has performed with a wide range of musicians, including Dizzy Gillespie, Stan Getz, and Chick Corea. He has also toured extensively throughout the world.
