Pomplamoose

Pomplamoose is an American musical duo consisting of multi-instrumentalists Jack Conte and Nataly Dawn. Formed in 2008, the duo's name is derived from the French word "pamplemousse," which means grapefruit. Pomplamoose is known for their unique and eclectic style, which blends elements of indie pop, jazz, and funk. They gained initial fame through their YouTube channel, where they posted inventive and quirky music videos known as "VideoSongs," a format which they defined with two rules: What you see is what you hear (no lip-syncing for instruments or voice), and if you hear it, at some point you see it (no hidden sounds).

Their music is characterized by Dawn's soothing vocals and Conte's intricate productions, often featuring a variety of instruments and electronic sounds. Aside from original compositions, Pomplamoose has also gained attention for their creative covers and mashups of popular songs. Their recent releases, such as "Félicitations!" and "Julie," showcase their affinity for French language and culture, while their various tributes to artists like Daft Punk, evident in tracks like "Daft PTX Mashup" and "Technologic," highlight their versatility and ability to reinvent well-known tracks. With their innovative approach to music and video production, Pomplamoose continues to charm audiences worldwide, both online and through their engaging live performances.
