Mark Bogert is a Dutch rock guitarist and composer known for his work with bands like Magoria and Knight Area. Born in Dordrecht in 1983, he graduated from the Rotterdam conservatory Codarts, where he also teaches. Over the past decade, he has released several solo albums, including *A Story in Parts* (2014), *Painting the World* (2016), and his latest instrumental rock album *Antiquity Neon* (2025). His music features strong, narrative guitar melodies and clear song structures, often collaborating with notable musicians such as bassist Stuart Hamm. In addition to his band projects, Mark is active as a sought-after session musician, and in 2024 he toured as a stand-in guitarist for the British progressive rock band Arena. That same year, he was named Guitarist of the Year in the Benelux by *Gitarist* magazine and performed in the theater show *Storytellers Gitaarhelden* with other prominent Dutch guitarists.
In 2019, Mark founded the rock band Magoria, serving as the main composer and guitarist. Their debut album *JtR1888* is a rock opera about the Jack the Ripper conspiracy theory, followed in 2024 by a second rock opera *Hollingsworth Mansion*. His style blends progressive and classic rock elements, and his solo work offers instrumental pieces where the guitar leads the melodic storytelling. Outside his own projects, he contributes recordings for various bands and projects, reinforcing his reputation as a versatile and talented guitarist in the contemporary Dutch rock scene.
