Jennifer France is a British soprano who's quickly become one of opera's brightest stars, winning the 2018 Critics' Circle Emerging Talent Award and earning raves like "the living jewel in opera's crown" from WhatsOnStage. Fresh out of the Royal Academy of Music's Opera Course and an Emerging Artist with Scottish Opera, she's built a rep for nailing coloratura roles like Zerbinetta in *Ariadne auf Naxos* at spots like Garsington Opera, Opera North, and Nederlandse Reisopera, plus Susanna in *Le nozze di Figaro* and Marzelline in *Fidelio*.
She's a powerhouse in contemporary opera too, creating roles like Ice in Stuart MacRae's *Anthropocene* for Scottish Opera, Ophelia in Brett Dean's *Hamlet* for Glyndebourne on Tour, and shining in world premieres of George Benjamin's *Lessons in Love and Violence* at the Royal Opera House. On the recording side, she's dropped gems like *Homelands* with pianist Aron Goldin, Fauré's *Trois Mélodies*, Debussy songs, and Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, while her concert gigs span the BBC Proms, London Philharmonic, and more—keep an eye on her upcoming Lucia di Lammermoor at Holland Park in 2025!
