Þorkell Sigurbjörnsson

Þorkell Sigurbjörnsson was a prominent Icelandic composer and musician, widely recognized for his contributions to contemporary classical music in Iceland. Born in 1938, he was an incredibly prolific composer, writing music across a wide range of genres—from choral and orchestral to solo instrumental works. Over his career, Þorkell composed more than 300 works, many of which are celebrated for their lyrical qualities and thoughtful incorporation of Icelandic cultural elements.
