The Deku Trio

The Deku Trio is a smooth jazz ensemble known for their cozy, intimate arrangements that reimagine video game music, especially from The Legend of Zelda series. Founded by pianist and arranger Rob Araujo (also known as Rob Arousal) and managed by Chris Davidson of GameChops, the trio features a mellow trio setup with piano, upright bass, and mellow percussion. Their debut album, *Zelda & Jazz* (2024), presents 12 jazz-infused interpretations of classic tracks from *The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time*, including fan favorites like "Sheik's Theme" and "Gerudo Valley." Following that, *Zelda & Jazz II* (2025) expanded their tribute to include compositions from across the Zelda franchise, blending smooth jazz with elements of bossa nova and coffeehouse vibes, bringing a fresh, polished sound that highlights the emotional depth of these beloved themes.
