Songhoy Blues

Songhoy Blues is a dynamic music group hailing from Mali, known for their vibrant fusion of traditional African rhythms with contemporary rock and blues. The band was formed in Bamako after being forced to flee their homes in the north of Mali during the civil conflict in 2012. Comprised of band members Aliou Touré, Garba Touré, Oumar Touré, and Nathanael Dembélé, Songhoy Blues draws inspiration from the rich musical heritage of their homeland while incorporating a wide range of influences that give their sound a unique, cross-cultural appeal.

Since their emergence on the international music scene, Songhoy Blues has become synonymous with resilience and the power of music to overcome adversity. Their discography, including the albums "Résistance" and the acclaimed "Optimisme," showcases the band’s commitment to messages of hope and resistance. Their energetic tracks such as "Worry," "Bon Bon," and "Badala," resonate with audiences around the globe, earning them a reputation for electric live performances. Songhoy Blues not only represents the evolving sound of Africa but also stands as a voice for unity and peace through their impassioned songs. With every release and remix, such as "Worry (The FOKN Remix [By M3NSA])" and "Bon Bon (Mike Lindsay Remix)," Songhoy Blues continues to redefine the boundaries of world music and bring the spirit of Mali to the world stage.
