Juicy J

Juicy J, born Jordan Michael Houston on April 5, 1975, is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer hailing from Memphis, Tennessee. He cofounded the influential Southern hip-hop group Three 6 Mafia in 1991 alongside DJ Paul and Lord Infamous. The group achieved widespread success, including an Academy Award for Best Original Song with "It's Hard out Here for a Pimp" in 2005, making them the first hip-hop group to win the award. As a solo artist, Juicy J's career burgeoned in the 2000s with his signature blend of crunk and Southern hip-hop, which is characterized by explicit lyrics, pulsating beats, and hypnotic rhythms. He is known for his frequent collaborations, bringing his raucous energy to tracks across various genres.

Expanding his discography, Juicy J has consistently released solo work that showcases his versatility and penchant for hard-hitting beats. Notable solo projects include the 2013 album "Stay Trippy," which features the hit single "Bandz a Make Her Dance." The latter half of the 2010s and into the 2020s saw a stream of singles and collaborations with Juicy J lending his distinctive flow to tracks such as "WAKENBAKE," "BLOOD ON MY NIKEZ," and "Not Today." His ability to infuse his music with humor and wit, as well as his talent as a beat-maker, secures his continued relevance in hip-hop. Even as he explores new themes and sounds with songs like "Crypto Business," Juicy J remains a respected figure for his contributions to the genre and his prevailing influence on the trap music subgenre.
