Triana

Triana was an influential Spanish rock band known for a distinctive fusion of flamenco and rock, often credited with being pioneers of the Andalusian rock scene. Formed in the mid-1970s in Seville, Spain, the original lineup was composed of Jesús de la Rosa on keyboards and vocals, Eduardo Rodríguez Rodway on guitar, and Juan José Palacios "Tele" on drums. They were named after the Triana neighborhood in Seville, known for its vibrant flamenco culture, which deeply infused their music.

Their sound was a groundbreaking blend of traditional Andalusian musical elements and progressive rock, creating a unique genre that resonated with audiences seeking an authentic fusion of cultural influences. Triana's most influential period was during the late 1970s and early 1980s until the tragic death of de la Rosa in a car accident in 1983 led to the band's dissolution. Posthumously, their music remains highly respected and influential in Spanish music history. The band's reformation in later years under the guidance of Eduardo Rodríguez Rodway has seen them continue to celebrate their legacy with new releases and tours, albeit with changing lineups, while preserving the essence of their original sound. Songs like "Todo es de color" from the soundtrack of the film of the same name remain emblematic of their lasting impact.
