Sarabjit Cheema (also known as Sarbjit Cheema) is a dynamic Indian-Canadian artist renowned for his contributions to Punjabi music and film. Born into a Jat Sikh family in Punjab, India—sources mention both Nurmahal and Cheema Kalan as his birthplace—he moved to Canada after completing his graduation, where he began his professional music journey. Cheema first gained major recognition in the early 1990s with his debut album, and he quickly became a favorite among Punjabi folk music fans, thanks to lively hits like “Billo Teri Tor Vekh Ke,” “Dhol Vajda,” and the evergreen “Rangla Punjab”. His style blends traditional bhangra and boliyan with contemporary beats, and he’s released over a dozen studio albums, collaborating with top Punjabi music producers.
