Waylon

Waylon, born Willem Bijkerk on April 20, 1980, in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands, is a renowned Dutch singer with a career marked by a melodic amalgamation of country, rock, and pop influences. Beginning his journey in the music industry in 1995, Waylon's passion for American country music took a definitive shape after he spent some time in Nashville, Tennessee, where he honed his artistry. His stage name is a homage to his idol, the American country legend Waylon Jennings.

In 2008, Waylon's career took a significant leap forward when he became the first Dutch artist to sign with Universal Music Nashville, releasing his debut album 'Wicked Ways' to critical and commercial success. His unmistakable voice and charismatic stage presence quickly amassed a loyal following in the Netherlands and beyond. With a string of successful albums and singles, such as "Outlaw In 'Em," featured in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 where he represented the Netherlands, and heartfelt ballads like "Human" and "I Should Be Loving You," Waylon continues to captivate audiences. His most recent work, including "Nog 1 nacht (Live version)" and "Gewoon Willem," echoes his authenticity and the evolution of his sound, confirming his status as one of the Dutch music scene's indispensable talents.
