Alfredo Aracil

Alfredo Aracil is a renowned Spanish composer, born in Madrid in 1954. He studied music under notable figures such as Cristóbal Halffter, Tomás Marco, and Luis de Pablo, among others, and later attended the Darmstadt Summer Courses in Germany, where he worked with Mauricio Kagel, Iannis Xenakis, and Karlheinz Stockhausen. Holding a PhD in Art History, Aracil has been deeply involved in cultural management. He has served as the head of Music Productions at Radio 2 (RNE) and directed the International Festival of Music and Dance in Granada. Aracil is celebrated for his unique compositional style, which blends speculative and poetic elements. His works include a range of instrumental and vocal pieces, as well as dramatic compositions like the opera *Siempre/Todavía: ópera sin voces*. In 2015, he received the National Music Award for his contributions to music.

Aracil's compositions are known for their expressiveness and innovative approach to music. Some of his notable works include *Elegía a Alberto Corazón*, *Órbitas*, and *Alfredo Aracil: Cuartetos de cuerda*, which showcase his ability to craft compelling and evocative music. With a career spanning multiple facets of music, Aracil continues to be a significant figure in contemporary Spanish music.
