Theresa Andersson

Born in Silte, Gotland, Sweden, she moved to New Orleans in 1990 to play violin with fellow Swedish musician Anders Osborne. After leaving the band nine years later, Andersson established herself as a solo artist, collaborating with notable musicians like Allen Toussaint, The Neville Brothers, and The Meters. Her music often incorporates elements of jazz, rhythm and blues, and the vibrant cultural heritage of New Orleans, alongside the melodic violin traditions of Sweden.

Andersson is also recognized for her innovative live performances, which often feature her using loop pedals to create a rich, multi-instrumental sound. She has performed at various festivals and shows, including the Voodoo Festival and appearances on late-night TV. Her album "Hummingbird, Go!" reflects her unique approach to songwriting, inspired by organic elements and personal experiences.
