Tempest

Tempest is an American Celtic rock band that originated in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1988. Founded by Norwegian mandolinist and vocalist Lief Sørbye and Cuban-born drummer Adolfo Lazo, the band is known for blending traditional Celtic music with elements from Norwegian and other world music influences, creating a high-energy folk rock sound. Over the years, Tempest has released numerous critically acclaimed albums and played more than 2,500 shows worldwide. The lineup has evolved, but Sørbye and Lazo remain the core members, joined by musicians from various backgrounds, including fiddle, guitar, and bass players.
