Adham Shaikh

Adham Shaikh is a renowned composer, record producer, and sound designer based near Nelson, British Columbia. His journey into music began in the early 1980s with synthesizers, which led him to explore the vibrant electronic music scene of the 1990s. Shaikh further honed his skills in electro-acoustic composition at Queen's University. His music is a rich blend of styles, including fusion, dub, world beat, tech house, ambient, and jazz, drawing inspiration from Indian ragas and Western classical music. Over the years, he has collaborated with musicians from diverse cultural backgrounds, including India, Bali, Africa, Scandinavia, Turkey, the United States, and Canada.

Shaikh's contributions to music have been recognized with nominations for prestigious awards, including a Juno Award for World Music Album of the Year in 2006. His work extends beyond albums to scoring original soundtracks for films and television productions, such as National Geographic and Disney's Sacred Planet. His music has also been featured in popular series like Orphan Black.
