Jah Wobble

Jah Wobble, born John Wardle, is an English bass guitarist, singer, poet, and composer, recognized for his deep, resonant bass playing style and contributions to the world of post-punk, world music, and avant-garde. He rose to prominence as a founding member of the influential band Public Image Ltd (PiL) in the late 1970s alongside John Lydon (formerly Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols). Wobble's time with PiL was marked by an innovative approach to bass playing that has continued to characterize his subsequent work.

After his departure from PiL in the early 1980s, Jah Wobble embarked on a prolific solo career that saw him exploring a variety of musical landscapes. He has consistently pushed the boundaries of music, delving into a myriad of genres including dub, jazz, ambient, and ethnic world sounds. His extensive discography is marked by collaborations with a wide range of musicians and an adventurous spirit that refuses to be confined by any single musical style. Among his most recent releases, projects like "Blood Red Supermoon Musick" and "Monitor" continue to showcase Wobble's enchantment with sonic experimentation, while "A Brief History Of Now" and "I Am I Am I Am" demonstrate his reflective and poetic prowess. Jah Wobble remains a respected figure in the music world, influencing new generations of musicians with his innovative approach to the bass and his commitment to musical exploration.
