Chris Jones is a respected American bluegrass musician known for his baritone voice, guitar skills, and songwriting. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Jones developed an interest in bluegrass while living in Albuquerque, inspired by his family's musical background. He began playing guitar as a teenager and later joined several bands, including Horse Country and Special Consensus, before moving to Nashville in 1989. In 1995, he formed Chris Jones & The Night Drivers, a band that has since gained acclaim for their recordings and live performances across the US, Canada, and Europe. Jones has shared the stage with legends like the Chieftains, Earl Scruggs, and Vassar Clements and has been a regular at major festivals such as Merlefest. Beyond performing, he writes a weekly column for Bluegrass Today and hosts shows on SiriusXM's Bluegrass Junction, earning multiple International Bluegrass Music Association awards for his songwriting and broadcasting.
