Quasars Ensemble

Quasars Ensemble is a professional musical ensemble based in Slovakia, founded in 2008. They specialize in performing both classical and contemporary music, often focusing on rare and forgotten ensemble pieces, particularly by Slovak composers. The ensemble has been a guest at numerous festivals in Slovakia and abroad, including the Bratislava Music Festival, Música Viva in Lisbon, and the Warsaw Autumn Festival. They have also performed at prestigious venues like Flagey in Brussels and the Budapest Music Center.

Quasars Ensemble is led by Ivan Buffa, who serves as its artistic director. The group has collaborated with renowned composers and artists, such as Bent Sørensen, Michael Jarrell, and Kaija Saariaho. Their discography includes albums featuring works by notable composers like Arnold Schoenberg, Alexander Albrecht, and Paul Hindemith, as well as contemporary pieces. Quasars Ensemble has received critical acclaim for their recordings, including awards like the Crystal Wing Awards and a six-star rating from *Harmonie* magazine.
