Castrator

Castrator is a fierce all-woman death metal band from New York City, formed in 2013 by bassist Robin Mazen and drummer Carolina Perez. Known for their brutal, old-school death metal sound, they combine blistering speed, heavy grooves, and larynx-corroding vocals to deliver intense, unapologetic music. Their lyrics often tackle themes of feminist resistance, social injustice, and historical atrocities, making them stand out as a confrontational and politically charged act within the genre. After releasing their debut EP *No Victim* and the highly praised full-length *Defiled in Oblivion* in 2022, they followed up with the 2025 album *Coronation of the Grotesque*, showcasing their growth and continued passion for crushing death metal.

The current lineup includes Carolina Perez on drums, Robin Mazen on bass, Kimberly Orellana on guitar, and Clarissa Badini on vocals. Despite members being geographically spread out, they have kept the band active, performing live and recording music that channels both aggression and powerful messages. Castrator’s music pays homage to classic death metal influences while injecting their own fierce energy and feminist perspective, earning them respect and a dedicated fanbase in the metal community.
