Ignacio Cervantes
Ignacio Cervantes was a Cuban composer and pianist who lived from 1847 to 1905. He's best known for his contributions to Cuban classical music, particularly his danzas cubanas (Cuban dances). Cervantes studied music in Paris and brought European classical influences back to Cuba, blending them with traditional Cuban rhythms and melodies.
Cervantes composed numerous pieces for piano, with his danzas being particularly popular and influential in the development of Cuban musical styles. His work helped lay the foundation for later Cuban classical and popular music, bridging the gap between European and Cuban musical traditions.
