Sergei Skripka

Sergei Skripka is a renowned Soviet and Ukrainian conductor, born on October 5, 1949, in Kharkiv. He graduated from the Kharkiv Institute of Arts in 1972 and later from the Conservatoire in 1979. Skripka has been the Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Russian State Symphony Orchestra of Cinematography since 1993. He is also known for conducting the Zhukovsky Symphony Orchestra, with which he has toured internationally. Skripka holds prestigious titles such as Merited Artist and People's Artist of the Russian Federation. His work spans collaborations with many notable soloists and contributions to the Russian film industry through soundtrack recordings.

Skripka's career highlights include running the "Live Screen Music" series at the Moscow Philharmonic and premiering significant works like Eduard Artemyev's requiem *Nine Steps to Transformation*.
