Savage Existence

Savage Existence is a heavy metal band that emerged in Costa Rica, founded by Canadian musicians Daniel Cleland (guitars) and Jesse Radford (drums). The band has built a reputation for blending groove metal with elements of southern rock, heavy vocals, and melodic interludes. Their music is inspired by influential bands such as Pantera, Sepultura, and Machine Head. Savage Existence gained attention with their debut album "Animals," recorded with producer Logan Mader, who also contributed bass to the project. Their recent releases include a self-titled album featuring guitar solos by Gary Holt of Exodus and Slayer fame.

Their sound is characterized by a diverse mix of styles, combining industrial strength groove metal with thrash, hardcore, and hard rock elements. The band's history began during the pandemic lockdowns in Costa Rica, where Cleland and Radford revisited old songs and collaborated with new members, including vocalist Anton Darusso and guitarist Andres Castro, to create their distinct sound. Their notable recent releases include "Leap of Faith," "Steady Blows to the Head," and "Bright Lights," showcasing their evolving style in the metal scene.
