Pavel Šnajdr is a Czech conductor and composer born in 1975, who studied composition and conducting at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno. He has a strong passion for contemporary music, having premiered around 40 works by modern composers with the Brno-based ensemble Ars Incognita. Pavel has also been involved with several orchestras including the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, Brno Philharmonic, and others, and has held engagements at notable Czech theaters such as the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Plzeň, the National Theatre in Brno, and the State Opera Prague. In 2011, he founded the Brno Contemporary Orchestra (BCO), which specializes in performing new music, reflecting his ongoing commitment to contemporary classical compositions.
Throughout his career, Pavel Šnajdr has earned recognition for his compositions, receiving awards in the Generation competition, and has contributed to the world of ballet and opera through conducting and music preparation for premieres, including productions like *The Garden* and *The Phantom of the Opera* ballet. His work blends classical traditions with innovative contemporary sounds, making him a respected figure in Czech contemporary classical music.
