GA-20

GA-20 is a dynamic blues band, emerging as one of the vibrant torchbearers of the genre in the 21st century. The band has cultivated a raw and infectious sound that pays homage to classic blues while infusing it with a robust, youthful energy. The group was formed by friends Pat Faherty and Matthew Stubbs in Boston, MA, with the name GA-20 inspired by a vintage Gibson amplifier model, signaling the band's deep reverence for traditional blues aesthetics. Stubbs, who had previously played with Charlie Musselwhite, brought a wealth of experience and authenticity to the band’s music.

The band's catalog has quickly expanded with a collection of releases that showcase their gritty, emotive sound. "Try It...You Might Like It: GA-20 Does Hound Dog Taylor," a tribute to the six-fingered blues slide guitarist Hound Dog Taylor, exemplifies their ability to reinterpret blues classics with integrity and enthusiasm. Their live releases such as "Live In Loveland" and live renditions of tracks like "By My Lonesome" and "I Cry For You" capture the impassioned performances that have earned the group a dedicated following. Singles like "Jolene," "Still As The Night," and "ATL" further prove GA-20's dedication to crafting music that resonates with the heart and soul of blues tradition while remaining fresh and current in the music scene.
