Trained as a classical musician, she developed her distinctive percussive playing style by watching YouTube slap-guitar players. This approach has revolutionized the way kantele music is perceived, especially through her popular covers of hits by artists like Michael Jackson and Adele, which have garnered hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube. Ida Elina is also recognized for her powerful voice and ability to sing in multiple languages, including Finnish, English, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, and French.
