Carlos Walker, known by his stage name Shawty Lo, was an influential figure in the Atlanta hip-hop scene. Born on March 31, 1976, in Atlanta, Georgia, Shawty Lo emerged as a prominent rapper in the early 2000s. He was best known as a founding member of the Southern hip-hop group D4L, which hit the national spotlight with their chart-topping single "Laffy Taffy" in 2005. The success with D4L established Shawty Lo's reputation in the industry and helped him to launch a successful solo career.

With hits like "Dunn, Dunn" and "Foolish," Shawty Lo carved out a niche for himself with his distinctive vocals and an unapologetic portrayal of street life.
