The Notorious B.I.G.

Christopher George Latore Wallace, known professionally as The Notorious B.I.G. or Biggie Smalls, was a profoundly influential American rapper hailing from Brooklyn, New York. Born on May 21, 1972, Biggie quickly ascended to prominence in the early 1990s, swiftly becoming a central figure in the East Coast hip-hop scene and a counterweight to the dominance of West Coast rap. His seamless flow, narrative storytelling, and vivid portrayal of inner-city life won him massive acclaim and a dedicated following.

Biggie's debut album, "Ready to Die" (1994), catapulted him to stardom with hits like "Juicy" and "Big Poppa." Tragically, his career was cut short when he was murdered in a drive-by shooting on March 9, 1997, in Los Angeles, an event that shook the music world and has been steeped in controversy and conspiracy theories. His posthumous double-disc album, "Life After Death," released just 16 days after his passing, underscored his lasting impact and featured iconic tracks like "Hypnotize" and "Mo Money Mo Problems." More than two decades after his death, the legacy of The Notorious B.I.G. endures, influencing artists across genres and solidifying his place as one of the greatest rappers of all time.
