47SOUL

47SOUL is an electrifying band known for pioneering their genre, Shamstep, which fuses traditional Palestinian street music with deep electronic beats and influences from funk, hip-hop, and rock. Formed in Amman, Jordan in 2013, the group consists of members Z the People (vocals and synthesizer), Walaa Sbeit (percussion and vocals), El Jehaz (guitar and vocals), and El Far3i (drummer, vocalist, and MC). The band's unique sound reflects their strong roots in Bilad al-Sham, the Levant region, with lyrical narratives that often comment on social and political issues, particularly those impacting the Arab world and the Palestinian experience.

With a reputation for high-energy performances and thought-provoking lyrics, 47SOUL quickly captured the hearts of international audiences. After releasing their debut EP in 2015, their success continued to soar leading to the acclaimed full-length album "Balfron Promise" in 2018. The album not only expands on their signature sound but also dissects themes of identity, migration, and diaspora struggles. Their tracks "Mo Light," "Run," and "Dabke System" continue the tradition of delivering dynamic rhythms that inspire a contagious urge to dance while also holding space for serious reflection on border politics and the defiance of oppressive structures, as heard in songs like "Border Ctrl" and "Semitics." As they continue to rise, 47SOUL's music remains a powerful voice for unity and resistance, resonating across dance floors and border walls alike.
