Aviador Dro, also known as El Aviador Dro y sus Obreros Especializados, is a pioneering Spanish synth-pop and electronic band formed in the late 1970s. Rooted in the vibrant post-Franco Madrid scene, they became one of the leading voices of the Movida Madrileña, an explosive cultural movement during the Spanish transition to democracy. Founding members, including Arturo Lanz who is considered the core of the group, aimed to create music that reflected their interest in science fiction, futurism, and technology, deeply influenced by the principles of constructivism.

Marked by their DIY ethos and ideological manifesto—which they titled "Dynamic Neoism"—Aviador Dro has been dedicated to creating a kind of music that operates as a social laboratory, experimenting with electronics to forge a vision of a better future. They formed their own label, DRO, which became a cornerstone in the development of Spanish independent music. Over the decades, with albums like "Yo, Cyborg" and "La Voz De La Ciencia," Aviador Dro has maintained their commitment to the avant-garde, both aesthetically and musically, evolving their sound while staying true to their foundational concepts, as seen in their later releases such as "Síntesis: la Producción al Poder." Their imaginative costumes and theatrical performances have also been a hallmark, making them a cult favorite and influential force in electronic and new wave music on both the Spanish and international scenes.
