**Hull** was a Brooklyn-based sludge/progressive metal band that carved out a niche with their massive, atmospheric soundscapes and mythologically inspired storytelling. Active in the mid-2000s to early 2010s, they blended post-metal textures with thunderous riffs, earning comparisons to bands like Isis and Neurosis. Their sophomore album, *Beyond the Lightless Sky* (2011), was a standout, weaving a conceptual narrative about two warring brothers from Norse mythology, delivered through sprawling, 10+ minute tracks like "Viking Funeral." Earlier works like *Sole Lord* (2009) showcased their raw, doom-infused energy. Though they never reached mainstream fame, Hull left a cult following in the underground metal scene before going on hiatus around 2015. Their live shows, often shared with acts like Baroness and Kylesa, were legendary for their primal intensity.
