Odd Nosdam

Odd Nosdam, born David Madson, is an innovative and enigmatic producer whose body of work encapsulates a unique blend of experimental hip-hop, ambient, and indie-electronic sounds. Emerging from the vibrant underground music scene of the late '90s and early 2000s, Odd Nosdam gained recognition as a founding member of the influential avant-garde group cLOUDDEAD and as a significant contributor to the Anticon collective, a label known for its forward-thinking approach to hip-hop and alternative music.

Beyond his group projects, Odd Nosdam has built a distinctive solo career, characterized by his atmospheric and often abstract musical landscapes. Throughout his career, he has developed a reputation for his evocative sampling techniques and lo-fi aesthetic, as can be heard in his array of prolific releases. From the ambient textures of "End Is Important" to the experimental beats of the "T.I.M.E. Soundtrack" (originally released in 2009 and remastered in 2023), Odd Nosdam has proven his ability to evolve while remaining true to his idiosyncratic style. His "Right the Ship (2023 Remaster)," initially heard as part of his 2003 body of work, maintains the essence of his early experiments while receiving a fresh finish. Other works, such as "Skateloops" and "Push," showcase his adeptness at crafting immersive soundscapes, while the "Doubts (Odd Nosdam Remix)" demonstrates his skills in reinterpreting and reshaping existing compositions with his signature sonic touch. With the twin releases of "From Nowhere to North," Odd Nosdam continues to intrigue and inspire, cementing his place as a vital architect in the realms of underground and experimental music.
