JUNE OF 44

June of 44 emerged in the mid-90s, adding their unique voice to the burgeoning post-hardcore and math rock scenes. The band's formation is a collage of members from other influential groups: Jeff Mueller and Sean Meadows from Rodan, Fred Erskine from Hoover, and Doug Scharin from Codeine. Together, they formed a new entity that synthesized the angular guitar work, complex rhythms, and thoughtful lyricism of their previous projects into a sound that was meditative yet visceral. June of 44 crafted a sonic landscape that was as much about atmosphere as it was about melody and structure.

From their 1995 debut, "Engine Takes to Water", to the introspective and experimental "Anahata" in 1999, June of 44 inspired a cult following that has persisted well past their initial run. Their discography is a roadmap of evolution, with each release, including "Tropics and Meridians", "Four Great Points", and the live recording "In The Fishtank 6", manifesting a band unafraid to challenge itself and its listeners. Following their separation, the members have embarked on various other musical endeavors, and they occasionally reunite for live performances. The latest addition to their catalog, "Revisionist: Adaptations & Future Histories In The Time Of Love And Survival", showcases the enduring impact of their pioneering sound, which continues to resonate with fans of the post-rock and experimental genres.
