Márcio Marinho is a talented Brazilian musician known for his mastery of the cavaquinho, particularly the 6-string version, which he has helped popularize. Born in Brasília in 1984, Marinho began studying the cavaquinho at the age of 13 with his uncle Ricardo Farias. He has a degree in music from the University Claretiano and has furthered his musical education at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Marinho has been involved in various projects, including the groups Choro Livre, Trio Cai Dentro, and Face Quarteto. He is also part of the duo with Victor Angeleas, where they explore modern Brazilian Choro music with virtuosity and improvisation.
