SpizzEnergi is a British punk/new wave band fronted by the energetic and charismatic Spizz (real name Kenneth Spiers). They originally emerged in the late 1970s during the UK punk explosion, earning a cult following for their theatrical performances and sci-fi inspired themes. One of their most iconic tracks, "Where's Captain Kirk?" released in 1980, was the first No. 1 single on the newly established UK Indie Chart and remains a standout example of post-punk quirkiness.
Active under various names like Spizzoil, Spizz 77, and Athletico Spizz 80 before settling on SpizzEnergi, the group was known for changing their name annually during their early years, a unique gimmick that set them apart from their peers. While never a massive mainstream act, they've maintained a loyal fanbase and continue to perform and record, with recent live albums like ENERGIZED: Live in Dusseldorf 2017 capturing their enduring appeal and the unmistakable energy that defines SpizzEnergi’s sound.
