Spirit

Spirit is an influential American rock band formed in 1967 in Los Angeles, California. The original lineup included guitarist Randy California, vocalist Jay Ferguson, bassist Mark Andes, keyboardist John Locke, and drummer Ed Cassidy. Known for their eclectic blend of rock, jazz, and psychedelic influences, Spirit rose to prominence with their self-titled debut album in 1968. They gained widespread acclaim for tracks such as "Fresh Garbage" and "I Got a Line on You," showcasing their innovative approach to songwriting and instrumental prowess.

Throughout their career, Spirit released numerous celebrated albums, including "The Family That Plays Together" and "The Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus." Despite lineup changes and a tumultuous history, the band continued to produce noteworthy projects such as "Son of America" and "The Complete Potatoland."
