Alan Stivell

Alan Stivell, born Alan Cochevelou on January 6, 1944, in Riom, France, is a musician and singer of Breton and French ancestry who revived the popularity of Celtic music, particularly through the use of the Celtic harp. His contributions span several decades, beginning in the 1960s, when he adopted his stage name—Stivell meaning "fountain" or "spring" in Breton.
