Håvard Volden is a Norwegian experimental guitarist and composer, born in Trondheim in 1980 and based in Oslo since 2006. Known for his adventurous and playful approach to improvised and experimental music, he has carved out a unique space in the contemporary jazz and sound art scene. He is a longtime collaborator of artist Jenny Hval and leads several projects including the instrumental noiserockjazz band Moon Relay, the Swedish-Norwegian electroacoustic trio Muddersten, and a duo with Italian percussionist Carlo Costa. His work blends elements of free improvisation, sound art, and rock, and he has released several solo albums, with "Space Happy" being his second solo outing on SOFA music.
Volden's recent releases such as *Small Lives*, *Menneskekollektivet*, and *Losing Something* showcase his innovative take on jazz and improvisation, pushing boundaries with complex guitar melodies and an experimental edge. His music often explores unusual harmonies, time signatures, and textures, creating immersive sonic experiences that captivate audiences.
