Pop Will Eat Itself

Pop Will Eat Itself, often abbreviated to PWEI or The Poppies, are an English alternative rock band that formed in Stourbridge in 1986. With their unique blend of punk rock, alternative rock, and electronic sample-heavy dance music, they became frontrunners of the UK's grebo scene and later embraced industrial and electronic influences. The band's constant core members included Graham Crabb and Clint Mansell, with other members such as Adam Mole, Richard March, and Fuzz Townshend contributing to their kaleidoscopic sound over the years.

Pop Will Eat Itself's career has been marked by a series of comebacks and reinventions. They achieved modest commercial success in the late 1980s and early 1990s with hits like "Def. Con. One" and "Get The Girl! Kill The Baddies!" Despite disbanding in 1996, they reformed in the 2000s, showcasing their enduring appeal with releases such as "Anti-Nasty League" and "New Noise Designed by a Sadist". Their willingness to experiment and evolve musically has kept them relevant far beyond their initial heyday, as evidenced by their continued production of remixes and expanded editions of their earlier work, such as "Now for a Feast! (25th Anniversary Expanded Edition)" and "Box Frenzy (25th Anniversary Expanded Edition)."
