Ludmila Berlinskaya is a renowned Russian pianist known for her exceptional technique and deep musicality. She began playing piano at the age of five and, by 14, was performing with the famous Borodin Quartet, marking an early start to her distinguished career. Mentored by the legendary pianist Sviatoslav Richter, Berlinskaya has toured extensively, performing in prestigious concert halls across Russia, Europe, the United States, and Asia. She has collaborated with many celebrated musicians including Mstislav Rostropovich, Yuri Bashmet, and Ivry Gitlis. Since 2011, she has formed a piano duo with French pianist Arthur Ancelle, and together they have released several acclaimed recordings and created notable festivals such as La Clé des Portes.
In addition to her performance career, Berlinskaya is a respected professor at the Paris Conservatory and active in music education worldwide. She is especially recognized for her interpretations of Shostakovich’s chamber music and a broad classical repertoire, often performing at major international festivals like La Roque d’Anthéron and Aix-en-Provence. Beyond the concert stage, she also had a brief acting career in her youth but is primarily celebrated today for her contributions to classical piano as a performer and educator.
