Head Wound City is a hardcore punk supergroup that blends chaotic energy with razor-sharp precision. Formed in 2005, the lineup features members from some of the most influential bands in the post-hardcore and punk scenes—Jordan Blilie of The Blood Brothers, Nick Zinner of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Justin Pearson and Gabe Serbian of The Locust, along with Cody Votolato, also of The Blood Brothers. The band initially released a self-titled EP before going on hiatus, only to return nearly a decade later with renewed ferocity.
In 2016, Head Wound City dropped their first full-length album, A New Wave of Violence, which was produced by Ross Robinson. The record's title is fitting—it's a blistering, explosive mix of punk, grindcore, and noise, clocking in with short, punchy tracks that capture the band’s confrontational spirit and sonic intensity. Despite operating as a side project for its members, Head Wound City carved out a distinct identity, delivering an uncompromising sound that resonates with fans of visceral, genre-pushing hardcore.
