Gettomasa

Gettomasa, born Aleksi Lehikoinen on November 22, 1993, is a Canadian-born Finnish rapper. He was raised in Jyväskylä, Finland, after moving there from Montreal as a child. Gettomasa gained early recognition by winning the Finnish battle rap championship in 2012. He began his music career at the age of 17 and released his debut album, *Vellamo LP*, in 2014, followed by his first solo album, *Chosen One*, in 2016. The album *Chosen One* was notable for its track "Pelkuri," where he openly discussed his troubled childhood and relationship with his father.

Gettomasa's breakthrough came with his 2019 album *Diplomaatti*, which included the hit single "Silmät" and earned him the Finnish Emmy award for Rap/R&B Album of the Year. He continued to rise in popularity with subsequent releases, including *Kalamies LP* in 2020 and *Vastustamaton* in 2022, which reached number one on the Finnish charts and won the Emma Award for Album of the Year in the Rap/R&B category. Gettomasa is known for his engaging and personal lyrics, often reflecting on his life experiences and relationships.
