David Butt Philip

David Butt Philip is a British tenor known for his powerful voice and commanding stage presence in both opera and concert performances. He has gained international recognition for his performances in leading roles with major opera houses, including English National Opera, The Royal Opera House, and appearances at the Salzburg Festival. Butt Philip trained at the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music, and was later a member of the prestigious Jette Parker Young Artists Programme at Covent Garden.

His repertoire spans a range of dramatic roles, with standout performances as Lohengrin, Don José in Carmen, and the title role in Britten’s Peter Grimes.
