Reed Mathis

**Reed Mathis** is a versatile bassist and sonic explorer known for his work in the jam band and jazz fusion scenes. A founding member of the genre-blending Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, he spent over a decade pushing boundaries with their eclectic mix of jazz, rock, and electronic experimentation. Later, he joined the San Francisco rock outfit Tea Leaf Green, further cementing his reputation as a groove-driven collaborator. Mathis’s recent projects lean into his love for reinterpretation, including lively takes on Bob Dylan classics like "Tangled Up In Blue" and "Visions of Johanna," alongside genre-fluid originals such as "The Somnia Variations." He’s also teamed up with jam scene heavyweights like Phish’s Mike Gordon and drummer Joe Russo, notably on the tribute track "In Memory of a Great Man."
