Korgonthurus

Korgonthurus is a Finnish black metal band from Helsinki, formed in 2000. The band emerged from the ashes of their previous project, Soulless, which had a more melodic and speedy approach. Korgonthurus is known for its intense and raw black metal sound, often incorporating elements of darkness and spirituality into their music. Over the years, the band has experienced several lineup changes, with Kryth and Corvus being core members throughout much of their history. Their discography includes notable albums like "Marras," "Kuolleestasyntynyt," and "Vuohen Siunaus," showcasing a blend of dissonant and atmospheric elements within their black metal framework.

Korgonthurus' music often explores themes of mental evolution and philosophical introspection, moving beyond the primitive aggression of their earlier work. The band has been associated with Woodcut Records, a label that has supported their musical endeavors. Despite their active status, Korgonthurus does not frequently perform live, focusing more on creating music than on touring or live performances. Their sound is deeply rooted in the Finnish black metal tradition, yet they maintain a unique identity by not conforming strictly to genre conventions.
