Deteriorot

Deteriorot is a death metal band formed in 1990 by songwriter Paul Zavaleta on guitar and vocals, along with Jon Brody on drums. The band's vision has always been to play death metal in its true form, maintaining raw, undiluted heaviness without limitations. Influenced by early metal pioneers like Venom, Hellhammer/Celtic Frost, Sodom, Bathory, Death, and Possessed, Deteriorot also drew inspiration from later bands such as Obituary, Autopsy, Carcass, Bolt Thrower, Entombed, and Paradise Lost. Over the years, they have built a cult following with numerous live performances alongside legendary acts like Obituary, Entombed, and Cannibal Corpse.

Deteriorot has released several notable works, including "Demo '92," the EP "Manifested Apparitions of Unholy Spirits," and their debut album "In Ancient Beliefs," which was initially intended for release in 1994 but was delayed until 2001. They have also released "The Faithless" in 2010. Their music is characterized by a blend of classic death metal styles, offering a dark and haunting experience for fans. Despite facing setbacks, such as label closures and lineup changes, Deteriorot continues to contribute to the death metal genre with their distinctive sound.
