Die Cadizier

**Die Cadizier** is a Swiss punk band from Zug, Switzerland, formed in 1992. They are known for their energetic punk-rock sound, which often includes Ska elements and socially conscious lyrics. The band gained fame early on, particularly in the German-speaking punk scene, with hits like "Halt’s Maul Blocher" and "Alles klar?" They were featured on various prominent punk samplers, including "Partisanen" and "Schlachtrufe BRD," alongside bands like Die Toten Hosen. Known for their distinctive stage presence and costumes, Die Cadizier have been active in the punk scene with periods of activity and inactivity over the years. Their music often critiques political figures and themes, reflecting their affiliation with the politpunk genre. Despite a few years of silence around 2000, they resumed performing in 2014, showcasing their enduring presence in the punk world.

The band's name is inspired by Cádiz in Spain, and they have continued to contribute to the vibrant European punk scene with their unique blend of music and activism. Even though the original lead vocalist, Hanke, left the band in early 2017, Die Cadizier remain a respected name in the European punk community.
