Yu Kosuge

Yu Kosuge is a renowned Japanese classical pianist born in Tokyo in 1983. She began her musical journey at a very young age, entering the Tokyo University of the Arts at just four years old as part of a program for gifted children. Kosuge has been performing recitals and collaborating with orchestras since early childhood, making her debut with the Tokyo New City Orchestra at the age of nine. She later moved to Europe to continue her studies in Hannover and Salzburg, where she received significant support and inspiration from notable figures like András Schiff.

Kosuge is celebrated for her technical skill and profound understanding of the music she performs. Her repertoire includes a wide range of works, with a particular affinity for Viennese Classic and German Romantic pieces, as well as contemporary Japanese compositions. She has released several notable albums, including her "Four Elements" series, which explores concept-driven themes inspired by literature and poetry. Kosuge's performances are marked by her sensitivity and deep connection to the music, making her one of the most respected pianists of her generation.
